(NVIDIA Corporation)
if i type $ dpkg --get-selections | grep nvidia
it says install nvidia-304
how to check what it installed?
so as your computer does, you could run: dpkg -S /usr/bin/xdg-desktop-menu
it says it's not installed
but the control center still looks different
i think it looks different after a reboot
nvm
that was a reinstall
and it was fixed
"it was fixed"?
after reboot
it doesn't become fixed without a reboot.
i mean i was able to run the control center
yea i just didn't reboot
so it was fixed without reboot
i'm all good now
cool
ty
hmm maybe the "nvidia-modeline" in your xorg.log could indicate what the issue is
i don't know what that is
it's supposed to describe the display configuration that the system is set to use, but maybe this was skipped during the update or driver installation, and you never saw it.
well i installed the latest ubuntu
from a livecd
so it should be the latest
yes, the log is about the previous installation.
make sure there's nothing important in it.
all i see is:0.0
that's all? or something else?
^S:0
hmm, ok that's fine
what version of ubuntu is this, btw?
ubuntu 19.10
i think that was the exact one
you said that you tried 16.04
